With all the recent Super Bowl hype and the Patriots trying to be perfect it got me to thinking. "Pursuit of perfection" how many Christian parallels can we make out of this. The Pat's kept shutting the subject out, no one wanted to talk about it. I think they missed some good opportunities to talk about Jesus. In all of history, throughout all the world only one has been perfect. Mercury Morris said that there is only 1 resident it "Perfectville." He is right! Of course he was referring to his '72 Dolphins "perfect" record. Ok they didn't lose a game, I understand that... but perfect...? Mercury Morris lead the team in '72 with 8 Fumbles. That is 2 away from the most in the league that year. The Dolphins as a team gave up the 3rd most yards per return that year. Oh and don't let me forget the beloved Mercury Morris' cocaine trafficking conviction in '82... who is perfect?? I know I'm splitting hairs and bringing up past things that may not be relevant. My point is this: They can talk about how "perfect" they were because they didn't lose a game, but in all of their arrogance I can still find tiny imperfections. In all of Jesus' humbleness there is not a thing He did wrong. He gave His life for all mankind, would Mercury do that? Just remember your priorities people. I love football more than most people. I just gave you a bunch of boring stats you care nothing about to prove a point. Jesus is the only one we can put or faith in. You belong to Him.

RAZORBUG!!!
I'm a huge Arkansas Razorback fan. In fact, I'm one of the biggest fans I know. This picture blew my mind!!! I want one. I am so glad that the Hogs are doing well in sports. We had a good last two seasons of football, and today I watched us handily beat the back to back defending national champion Florida Gators in basketball. Things are good for Razorback fans. Even if they weren't I'd still love them. GO HOGS GO!!!

Dark Journey, Deep Grace
Dark Journey, Deep Grace!! Check out this book. The things that Jeffrey Dahmer did were unspeakable and unjustifiable, but isn't it good to know that God's grace is for all. "'Whoever' believes in Him shall have everlasting life". Jeffery Dahmer died a Christian a repentant, baptized son of God. Controversial, maybe, but God's love knows no bounds. Paul Said he was the "Chief of Sinners" yet Christians today know him as the greatest, most influential writer in the Bible. You are never to lost for God's Grace!!!!!!

The Love of God!!
I know I haven't blogged in a while, but it has slipped my mind. I'm not sure anyone is reading anyway. God's love is so simple. As Christians sometimes we try to complicate things so much we don't even understand it ourselves. Recently, Lacey and I got to go down to Gulf Coast Getaway in Panama City, FL with Watershed. On the final night two girls from a very poor nation in Europe got up and talked about God's love. These girls were on a fast track to becoming prostitutes for the Russian Mafia. One of the girls when asked to tell her story of salvation said simply this, "No one knew me." The Missionaries told her that Jesus loved her and she didn't know why. She was intrigued. Jesus loved her when she didn't even love her. That to her was God's love. He loved everyone freely and she was glad to do His work because of that. Needless to say there was not a dry eye in the house. This girl who barely speaks english just simplified the greatest thing that ever happened to any of us. Praise God for His love of us. Even when no one "knows us" God will always be there.
